About from iran on FarsiTV Live

Persian-language television divides fairly cleanly by where it is made. A large part of what Farsi-speaking audiences watch is produced abroad, by diaspora networks in Los Angeles, London, Dubai and Europe. This page covers the other side: channels that originate inside Iran and broadcast from there.

The mix is different from what people expect. Alongside general entertainment there is a substantial cluster of film and cinema channels, music and youth channels, and specialist and lifestyle networks. These are the channels people inside Iran actually have on, and for diaspora viewers they offer something the abroad-produced networks cannot — the ordinary texture of domestic Iranian television rather than programming made about Iran from a distance.

A practical note on reliability: channels broadcasting from inside Iran are the least stable streams in this directory by a clear margin. Endpoints move, feeds go down, and some are not genuinely 24/7 despite appearing to be. Every channel here is probed automatically and its status shown, but there is always a lag between something changing and us catching it. If a channel will not load, try again later or pick another from the same category.

Every channel page in this directory labels where the signal comes from and which host is serving it, so you can always see the origin of what you are watching.

Frequently asked questions

Are IRIB state channels available here?

Not currently. This directory carries publicly published streams, and the channels listed on this page are independent and commercial Iranian broadcasters rather than IRIB's state networks. If that changes, they will appear here and be labelled as state broadcasting.

Why do channels from inside Iran go offline more often?

They are the least stable streams in this directory. Endpoints move, feeds are taken down, and some channels are not genuinely 24/7 even where they present as continuous. We probe every stream automatically, but there is inevitably a lag between a broadcaster changing something and us detecting it.

How can I tell whether a channel is produced inside or outside Iran?

Every channel page shows its origin and ownership where we know it, and the delivery host is displayed on the page too. Channels on this page originate inside Iran; the diaspora networks are listed under Persian TV and the category pages.
