Farsi-language news television is dominated by broadcasters operating from outside Iran. Iran International reports from London, VOA Persian from Washington, and a number of smaller diaspora operations broadcast from Europe and North America — all of them relying heavily on footage and testimony sent from inside the country for what is actually happening on the ground. Domestic state news, produced inside Iran under state editorial policy, does not publish open streams we can carry, so the Farsi news channels listed here are the independent and diaspora networks.

That matters for how you read them. Diaspora news channels are editorially independent of the Iranian state and generally critical of it; that is their position, and it is worth knowing rather than guessing. We label ownership and origin on every channel page so you can see exactly who is broadcasting what.
