TRT World
About TRT World
TRT World is the English-language international news channel of TRT, Turkey's public broadcaster, based in Istanbul. Its editorial centre of gravity is the Middle East, Turkey and the wider region, and it covers stories from that vantage point in more depth than Western international broadcasters generally do — regional politics, Turkish foreign policy, and Middle Eastern affairs are its core territory. TRT is state-funded, and its coverage of Turkish domestic politics in particular should be read with that in mind. It is relevant to Persian-speaking audiences because Turkey borders Iran, hosts a substantial Iranian expatriate community, and figures directly in regional stories that Farsi news channels also cover.
