PBC Tapesh TV (720p)
About PBC Tapesh TV (720p)
Tapesh TV is one of the veteran Los Angeles Persian broadcasters — part of the generation of diaspora channels that grew out of Southern California's Iranian community, which is the largest concentration of Iranians outside Iran and gave Persian diaspora media its centre of gravity. Its schedule is general entertainment aimed squarely at that community: talk and variety formats, music programming, community and cultural content, and commercial segments aimed at Iranian-American businesses. Channels like Tapesh matter less for any single programme than for what they collectively are — a continuous Farsi-language broadcast environment built by and for a diaspora that has now been established abroad for more than four decades, and which is where much of the community's shared cultural reference actually lives.
